Programs of Study

The School of Music is a fully accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). Together with the School of Art and the Department of Theatre, the School of Music forms the Division of Fine and Performing Arts, a division within the Henry Kendall College of Arts and Sciences.

A distinguished faculty of active scholars and performers offers students flexible, professional programs in music that are enriched by both the University’s strong liberal arts tradition and Tulsa’s heritage of cultural excellence. Currently, there are between ninety and one hundred students majoring in music, with many non-majors also participating in music ensembles, taking music classes, or choosing one of the music minors.

Curriculum and Courses
Music performance, theory, history, composition and music education studies; emphases in Jazz, Classical, Film Music; innovative courses in African-American Music, Rock and Popular Music, Jazz, Film Music, and Film Scoring; Interdisciplinary studies, minors and support courses for Musical Theatre, Film Studies, Arts Management, Women’s Studies, and the Tulsa Curriculum.
