TYPES OF DISORDERS STAFFED:
Overt cleft lip and/or palate
Submucous cleft palate
Hypernasal speech
Velopharyngeal incompetency (VPI) due to: congenital short palate; paralysis of the soft palate; or neurogenic incoordination of the palate
Syndromes with clefts
Craniofacial anomalies

All patients have a complete examination.  The results are reviewed and a comprehensive treatment plan is developed by the team of specialists.  A critical part of the planning process is the determination of a time table for the required treatment so that maximum benefit will be obtained and so one treatment will not interfere with another.

Between Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Clinic visits (usually scheduled once or twice annually), reports and records from recommended evaluations and treatments are reviewed and contact is maintained with patients to insure the treatments are progressing according to plan.

Continuity of care long-term records are maintained and centralized, allowing for transfer of records if needed.  This type of record keeping allows for retrospective research to improve the overall care of patients with cleft lip/palate and craniofacial anomalies.

Referrals are accepted from any physician, dentist, government agency, school system, psychologist, or other healthcare professional.  Self-referrals are also welcome.  Call (918) 631-2915 for an appointment.
