Purpose
The certificate program in museum studies is designed for individuals who wish to enhance their knowledge of museum culture or to prepare for careers in museum work.   The certificate attests to the recipient’s skills in the area of museum studies for the benefit of prospective employers and for graduate schools.

Admission
Students must be in the process of completing a degree at the University of Tulsa or have already earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. 

Certificate Requirements
Students are required to take 21 hours of coursework, a minimum of 15 hours at the 3000 and 4000 levels.  Courses are to be chosen from the list of approved elective courses and must come from a minimum of three academic departments.

Core Courses (9 hours, 3 of which must be an internship)
